ANCSA Allotment Surveys 1990
Because of the remoteness of the target survey areas up and down the Tanana River we towed a barge downriver from Nenana and tied it off to
the shore for living accommodations.
Another support barge was also towed into place. This bladder was our drinking water but within two days a beaver had chewed through the hose that delivered it to the living quarters and because it was on a demand system the drinking water was pumped into the river while we were all at work. So we spent the summer collecting water from the roof into a gutter system and partially filled one of the holds up. One of the other holds we had filled up with about 50 cases of beer.
The barge also contained two fuel tanks for our outboards. That's Ivo, camp dog.

Here's the access to the living quarters, 2 person cabins, an office, and a communal room with TV/videos upstairs. Downstairs was the kitchen and equipment room.
