Here's Royal Dutch Shell's exploratory drilling rig hanging out in the pristine Aleutians waiting on permits.

Here it is in Seattle a few weeks back with a few hundred protestors

The Fennica .... Finnish Icebreaker..One of Shell's Key vessels in the drilling operation ... The yellow assembly at the stern is the capping stack, deployable  in case they blow a well like Deep Water Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico. This ship left a couple days ago for the drilling grounds but struck an object that tore a gash in its hull so had to return for repairs here. Not a good start.

NOAA Hydrographic Surveying vessel Fairweather went out to map the area of the strike and found an uncharted shoal ...
